1mL serum from a SST or Red Top, if it will be longer than 24 hours to be sent to the lab then it is recommended to freeze
Additional Information
1. Draw 1 SST or Plain Red Top tube. 2. Allow to clot for 20 minutes and centrifuge for 15 minutes 3. If a Red Top is drawn, transfer serum to a plastic transfer tube 4. Refrigerate, unless longer than 24 hours to be sent to the lab, then freeze.
Specimen Stability
Stability : 8 hours room temp, 2 days refrigerated, 6 months at (-15)-(-25) °C (only freeze once)
